This might be of interest to some Downward Dogs fans. Apparently not a lot of people have heard this version, recorded on my Tascam portastudio 4 track back in 2003. This is from my second batch of songs... my recording technique is getting more refined at the same time my songwriting is getting more compact and refined and fully realized. This is not too long after I moved out of my old apartment in Canarsie and in to my new place. I'd been writing so many songs about my breakup and was getting bored with it. So I sat down one Saturday and told myself I was going to write some songs that had nothing to do with women. The result was "What Life Feels Like"  and this tune. I still remember recording those high harmonies and was so pleased with myself over how they sounded. 


Someone once called this tune "The closest thing to old Weezer we're likely to get" which I guess I can see, if the light is right and I tilt my head a certain way.
